OK...this is what could very likely be the MOTHER of all far-fetched, completely harebrained theories. Let´s take it step by step:
1) Let´s consider, first of all, the fact that there are several people on the island who can come and go as they please. The Michael Dawson character analysis reminded me of this fact, when C & C mention the conversation between Tom and Michael. We see for a fact that Tom is off the island, and alludes to the fact that although he doesn´t do it often, it IS indeed a possibility for him. We also saw ageless Richard off the island, not only off, but also in different decades. And although we haven´t SEEN Ben off island, his multiple passports attest to the fact that the guy is used to goin´places. There could be "others" we don´t know about....(oh, there was Ethan, too!) The question I pose for y´all is: What device are they using to do this? I say "device" especially in reference to Richard´s time-travel escapades. My theory is they indeed possess a device, different from the island-moving device, which I believe is much older...a device which allows them to move not only in space, but time as well. So, I´m sure you all think, no duh... but wait I´m just getting started...
2)Before Ben moves the island, he tells John that it´s highly unpredictable, I believe those were his words. Ben ends up in Tunisia, and I believe NOT as a result of moving the island, but with the use of this device, because when he finds out what day and year it is, he seems to be very pleased with himself, as if he had timed his arrival. How did he know WHEN to travel to? I´ll get to that later. I think he timed his arrival to the precise moment when Sayid would be most vulnerable to be able to recruit him. And I think the device he used is his telescopic baton, which seems to be more than just his weapon of choice. Here´s the Lostpedia info on the thingy:
www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Baton
We see Ben use it only to beat people up, but I think that´s what he uses to move around time and space. He probably punches in coordinates (much like the Doc in Back to the Future) and wham! Time-travel on a stick! And it comes in pretty handy if you need to beat someone up!
3) Now here comes the part where I start sounding like a raving lunatic...(taxi!...get me to Santa Rosa and get me some meds, fast!). The telescopic baton thingy appears lying right next to Jack 30 sec. into the pilot episode. For those of you who don´t feel like bringing out the DVDs here´s the video of the first part of the pilot, courtesy of moi and You Tube:

I´ve seen it like a zillion times...there´s no mistaking it... it´s the same thing. Now, why would they just drop that prop there in the middle of the jungle, 3 SEASONS before we see Ben using it ? Isn´t it all sooooo weird? How there´s no bamboo broken around Jack? Why is he so far from the crash? I mean, how long does he have to run before he gets there?
This idea started going round and round my head after a comment my husband made...For reasons I don´t recall, he never saw the pilot until after the end of season 4. When he watched it he said he had the impression that Jack knew exactly where to run to, who to look for, who to help out...LIKE HE HAD BEEN THERE BEFORE!!! So, I put 2 and 2 together: this comment plus baton thingy and bam! Was Jack teleported there for some reason? I know we see him on the plane and the airport before that, etc..... so here´s where my theory gets sketchy at best. And my theory is (drum roll, please): That everone on that freakin´island is on a loop, a time loop, and everything repeats again and again, following the course correction theory of Ms. Hawkin´s. That explains Desmond´s flashes of how Charly dies....Richard asking Locke what things belong to him already...I think Ben a few select others have this device with which they move around and they know where to go because I suppose some people are special and they remember things (like Desmond´s flashes), whereas others don´t remember anything at all. Or perhaps they have their own flashes, like when Hurley asks Libby if they had met before....It would be interesting to watch again and see how many people on the island get this feeling of deja-vu. So, this is it: my big deja-vu theory. ;D Now that I´ve regurgitated it (it´s been making me kinda sick to my stomach) I feel a lot better.
Now, I´m gonna try to get back to my "normal" life (I´m supposed to be WORKING, d**n it!), though it´s gonna be hard.
Let me know what y´all think, Dharma Dummies of the world!
Until then, I remain....
