I had a thought about the Losties who appear to be skipping through time. It seems like they are the ones who are skipping and not the island because they stay the same - their clothes and their appearance are the same, but the island and the other people they encounter are changed depending on when they are.
I noticed that the skipping Losties are starting to look pretty raggedy. Their clothes are getting dirty and so are they, since they can't really set up a camp and get organized. Plus, every time they skip to a time before their camp existed, all their things (clothes, etc.) except what is literally on their backs, disappears.
I wondered if that could be what is happening with the group of barefooted, dirty, primitive-looking others that we see from time to time. Could they look like that because they are also skipping through time?
